Mayor de Blasio Plans to Reduce Violence, Smuggling at Rikers

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a fourteen-point plan to crackdown on smuggling and violence at Riker’s Island yesterday. I spoke with John Boston. He’s the director of the Legal Aid Society’s Prisoner’s Rights Project. And he says while the reforms tackle inmate-on-inmate violence… they don’t address violence between correctional officers and incarcerated men.
