Dana Binfet
Dana Binfet is a graduate student at the Columbia School of Journalism, covering the intersection of arts, culture and social justice. She is the Co-President of Columbia’s Women in Media Affiliate Group, leading 100 student journalists, planning panels, social events and discussions with guest speakers. Prior to studying at Columbia, Dana received a degree in English Literature from UCLA. While in undergrad, Dana worked as an intern at KCRW, a Southern California NPR affiliate station, and worked as an Arts & Entertainment writer at the Daily Bruin.
Hannah Lorenzo
Hannah Lorenzo covers sports for Uptown Radio. She received her bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor in writing, rhetoric and media studies at Trinity College. She has written for the Filipino American Journal in Arizona and The Trinity Tripod undergraduate newspaper in Hartford, Connecticut. She has a research background on Filipino culture and migration and loves to write profile stories. A fun fact about Hannah is she was a competitive figure skater for over a decade and can still keep her balance on the ice. Zhuoya Ma
Zhuoya Ma covers business for Uptown Radio. Before Columbia, she graduated with a dual degree in journalism and Russian from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While there, she volunteered at a local radio station, WORT FM89.9, joined the reporting team for an hour-long, daily local news broadcast and as worked as a general assignment reporter and interviewer for the weekly feminist news magazine program Her Turn.
She comes from Urumqi, Xinjiang, China, and her favourite hometown dish is Xinjiang style Laghman; she can eat a full plate and an extra small plate of Laghman with raw garlic every time.

Caroline McCarthy is an education reporter at Uptown Radio. Previously, she covered sports and sports entertainment at the New York Post and collegiate sports for the Riverdale Press. She also covered local politics and culture at the Bronx Times and Her Campus Media. Caroline is a general board member of Columbia Journalism School's chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and earned her undergraduate degree in communication and marketing from Manhattan University.

Oona Milliken

Oona Milliken is Uptown Radio’s politics reporter. She’s obsessed with New York and is always trying to figure out what Mayor Eric Adams will do next. At Columbia, she’s covered housing, city politics, economics and more. Outside of being a graduate student at Columbia, she loves cooking, reading and hanging with her friends.



Flora Warshaw
Flora Warshaw covers NYC transportation for Uptown Radio. Prior to Columbia she was at the University of St Andrews, studying History and International Relations, and making podcasts in her bedroom. She grew up in London and has the accent to prove it.
Hannah Weaver
Hannah Weaver covers climate and the environment for Uptown Radio. Before Columbia, she graduated with a degree in Media Studies from Scripps College. While there, she served as editor in chief of the oldest student newspaper in Southern California, covering the seven Claremont Colleges. She grew up in Seattle and still feels unnatural using an umbrella.
Maud Yaiche
Maud Yaïche covers culture and the arts for Uptown Radio. Before attending Columbia, she graduated with a degree in Quantitative Sociology from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and is currently a student at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon. While at ENS Lyon, she was involved with Trensistor, the university's radio show, and worked for Agence France Presse and France Culture. Maud grew up in Paris and misses the terrace cafés and cheap espresso.

Zijie Yang works in the high and street arts and culture beat. Before Columbia, he received a bachelor’s degree in media studies and comparative literature from the University of California, Berkeley. Inspired by Joaquin Phoenix’s character in the 2013 film Her, he wants to become an audio reporter.
