New York Schools on the Chopping Block

Last summer, the city’s Panel for Educational Policy identified 13 New York City schools as underperforming. Yesterday, they decided to close 10 of them. Dr. Aaron Pallas is the Chair of the Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis at Columbia University’s Teachers College. He says that the process for closing schools is opaque and confusing to affected communities.
