Fears mount over security in Afghanistan

MOSSA: Marie, how important is the Bilateral Security Agreement to ongoing cooperation between Afghanistan and the United States?

SHABAYA: Well, the position of the American government is very clear: if the deal is not signed at the end of the year all foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan will have to leave. I wanted to understand the implications of the zero-option, as this decision is also known, so I spoke to Lawrence Korb, who is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.
