A History of the Cherry Blossom

You might have noticed the cherry blossoms blooming throughout the city. There’s even a festival to celebrate the occasion at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this weekend. It’s called Sakura Matsuri. I spoke with Ann McClellan, who has written extensively about the symbolism behind Japan’s famous flower.
