Governor Andrew Cuomo is coming under fire today after holding a fundraiser during budget season. The New York Times reported on the $25,000 per couple dinner. The event was held two weeks before the state budget is due. Some of the people who attended include the President of a school bus company that wanted tax breaks, according to the New York Times.
On WYNC radio today, Cuomo defended the dinner and said other legislators are doing the same thing.
Cuomo also announced today he will be running for a fourth term in office. .
Brooklyn police released a video today showing a group of men chasing a man before he was fatally shot. The video was released in an effort to apprehend the men responsible for the murder of the 21-year-old man. One man has been arrested in connection to the crime.
The Department of Transportation announced that at least 10 new city bike docks will be placed in Bushwick by April 27th. The exact locations are yet to be disclosed. The bike docks are in addition to the various valet and temporary stations that are expected to be installed in the next few months.
Drivers crossing the MTA bridges and tunnels will be charged more as of Sunday. The new fare will cost $6.12 if you own an EZ Pass. Non EZ Pass users will now pay $9.50. Additionally, starting on April 21, subway riders will not receive a bonus when adding multiple riders at a time.
