This week, tenants in Brooklyn filed a legal objection when their landlord set out to install facial recognition technology in his rent-stabilized apartment buildings. The new tech would mean that a scan of each tenants’ face would serve as the keys to their front door. But tenants are worried about bias in the technology, and the loss of control over their private data.
