Proposed City Legislation Seeks to Protect Freelancers

More than 1.3 million New Yorkers work as freelancers. According to the Freelancers Union, more than 70% of all freelancers are paid late – or not at all – at some point in their careers. And its not a small amount – the average amount of nonpayment is almost $6,000. A new proposed New York City law seeks to fix that.
