On eve of Afghan elections, measured optimism from experts

I’m Felice Leon. Afghans will elect a new president tomorrow. It is the second election since the ouster of the Taliban in 2001. Two AP reporters were shot today, one fatally, ramping up tension over security. Michael O’Hanlon is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. He says in spite of the potential for fraud and serious security breaches, hopes are still high for an improvement over past elections.
