Interview: Newarkers choose successor to Cory Booker

HOST INTRO: On Tuesday, voters in Newark will decide their next mayor. And the candidates could hardly look more different. Shavar Jeffries is an ivy-league educated lawyer with the support of the business community. Ras Baraka is a city council member and son of controversial poet and activist Amiri Baraka. The race has become heated, with a late night shouting match between candidates and one campaign worker for Jeffries who even lit fire to Baraka’s bus. But Professor Clement Price, an expert on public history and New Jersey, says the two candidates aren’t as different as they appear.
