House Republicans Fail to Get Necessary Votes for ACA Repeal

And I’m Camila Kerwin. The House Republicans have withdrawn the health care bill. For Republicans, today was a tense numbers game on Capitol Hill. House Speaker Paul Ryan and President Donald Trump tried to get the 215 votes needed to pass the bill. But did not succeed.

Earlier today, I spoke with Sherry Glied, a healthcare policy expert at NYU. She says this level of scrambling is not normal.
